Ecover, the sustainable cleaning brand owned by SC Johnson, partnered with Arctic Leaf to create a future-ready headless commerce platform for the UK market. The goal was to build more than just a storefront. SC Johnson needed a scalable, reusable D2C foundation that could support global expansion across regions and lifestyle brands. Arctic Leaf delivered a fully composable architecture using Next.js, Storyblok, and BigCommerce, integrating eleven third-party applications while meeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards. The result is a flexible, content-rich ecommerce ecosystem built for long-term growth and international rollout.

Arctic Leaf delivered a custom headless commerce solution built for SC Johnson’s global D2C goals. Using a composable architecture, the platform gives Ecover the flexibility to scale internationally, integrate modern technologies, and evolve content and commerce independently. The combination of Next.js, Storyblok, and BigCommerce allows marketing teams to launch campaigns and localized content without developer reliance, while the modular infrastructure supports rapid rollout across additional regions and lifestyle brands.
Within the first 90 days post-launch, Ecover UK established a strong digital foundation with organic search becoming the primary acquisition channel and AI-driven referrals beginning to generate measurable visibility. The new headless architecture positions SC Johnson for faster global expansion, providing a scalable ecommerce ecosystem focused on performance, accessibility, flexibility, and long-term operational growth.
